The Projects Undertaken so far

Agriculture

This is our rice farm. The plants have not grown very densely yet, but that's OK. Because if the rice grows too densely, over time you will no longer be able to cross the field properly. After the plants have been fertilized, they will grow a little closer together anyway.

The color of the rice has turned green because it has rained in the meantime.
Unfortunately, financially it has become tight. I will still need money for a successful harvest.
The rice farm is located in the village of Ve Golokwati in the north of the Volta Region.
On the outskirts of the village there are some fallow fields that can be used for agricultural purposes. Some of these fields have been owned by the Keteku family for generations.
Last year, 2024, village resident Jessie took on the idea of cultivating one of these fields for rice cultivation. In order to support Jessie in this new beginning of self-employment, we raised private financial resources for the procurement of rice grains and fertilizer, for the rental of tractors and equipment for mechanical harvesting, as well as for the preparation of the land and the sowing of the rice grains by paid employees, including their meals.
The processed rice is then sold to local traders, who take the rice to larger regional cities in the Volta Region for resale to wholesalers. This is then used to produce flour, for example. The profit generated will serve Jessie as new capital for the next harvest.
Just as we supported Jessie, we want to support many other rice farmers in their projects and thereby pave the way to independent self-employment. With the help of the financial resources of the Keteku Foundation, this goal is to be achieved and made more accessible.
A not insignificant obstacle to the last harvest was the unstable rainy season last year. In order to counteract this problem in the future, a continuous water supply must be ensured. Therefore, projects should also be started and financially supported in this area, such as the installation of well pumps.
